Update Week 4

This was my 4th Weight Watchers meeting and I'm only down 4/10 of a pound. Blah! Frustrating but I did cheat a bit last week with Emma's birthday party and going out drinking Saturday night.

Then to be honest I took the girls to McDonalds one day and I did just eat a cheeseburger and half a fry but that's still not ultra healthy. Friday I didn't drink as much water as I should and then ate freakin' REAL hotdogs that night. So I'm blaming all the salt and probably retaining some fluids because of that.

I'm just more motivated to kick ass this week. I got some of the WW shakes that are only 1 pt and some chocolates they sell that are pretty darn good and also, only 1 point.

I need to sit down and play out a menu for the week. A woman at the meeting said if you fail to plan, you plan to fail and I think that's fairly true for me. Tonight I'm going to plan it out. I've got lots of healthy options in the house so it shouldn't be too hard.

It's going to be a better week ahead! My next goal is to be down 10 pounds by the 4th of July. I'm doing it this time!

Monday - Day 3

I went over my points a bit yesterday. The husband is not a good influence and we went out around lunch time. I snacked on some of his black Jelly Bellies but I did account for that. No problem. Just used a few of my flex points.

Today was much, much better! I still have 4 pts left and plan to use two of them on one of these WW Cookies & Cream ice cream things (only 2 points!)

Here's what I've had today:

Breakfast

Ice water
yogurt smoothie

Total: 4 pts

Lunch

Tossed salad with some leftover baked chicken w/ 2 tblsp of low-fat dressing I made using Good Seasons & balsamic vinegar/olive oil/water -- It was VERY good!
Ice water

Total: 6 pts

Snack mid-afternoon

Whole wheat toast w/ low sugar strawberry preserves and 1/4 c. light (1%) cottage cheese
Ice water

Later a sugar free hot chocolate that has next to no calories

Total: 2 pts

Dinner

Salmon wraps
(baby spinach leaves, grape tomatoes, canned salmon w/ about 1/2 tsp lemon pepper and 1 Tblsp. of light mayo made w/ olive oil)
Steamed broccoli
Ice water

Later. . .

About a 1/2 cup fresh fruit (strawberries, blackberries, pineapple, banana) - 1 pt

Total: 9 pts

So that's 21 points so far! Woo hoo! Go me for not stopping at Chik Fil A even thought the husband suggested it and passing right by Starbucks when I wanted a coffee. I called a friend and chatted instead and took the parkway home so I wouldn't have anymore temptations to pass. :D

I really don't feel deprived. I feel good. I feel CLEAN. I can do this. Tomorrow the husband will be at work. I need to hit the store again so I have a few more options to choose from.

Starting Over

I joined WW yesterday. I did it. I committed to spending $40 a month on losing weight and learning how to eat. I weighed 196.8 pounds! It was quite a shock but I guess I needed that slap in the face.

Being at home with the girls, I have access to any food I want whenever I want. This is good and it is bad. I tend to eat when I'm lonely, bored, and upset. I know that but it doesn't change it.

However, now I feel equipped with a plan! Yesterday I did great. I stayed within my 25 points and ate more healthy things like a spinach salad with chicken and tons of veggies for dinner and a quesadilla with less cheese and fat free refried beans. I found both meals to be very filling and satisfying.

I still ate right up to bedtime because I had enough points to do that. I had some Special K with 1% milk and then later a small bowl of leftover salad to use up 3 more points. I even had chocolate - four hershey kisses and one fudgsicle. I didn't feel like I was sacrificing and it was good.

This morning I fixed oatmeal with strawberries and blackberries. I had this instant kind but when I checked the points on that it was 4 and the regular old-fashioned was only 2 so that's what I chose. I think I'm learning about choices and options.

I didn't tell Billy because I know he'd think $40 a month is a lot and he'd tell me we can't afford that. Well, whatever. It's no more than I'd been spending on weekly visits to Chick Fil A.

I feel like I'm off to a great start and really plan to stick to this! Watch the pounds fall!
